Player Walkthrough
Use this guide to learn the controls, classes, skill points, items, gear, buildings, messages, friends, clans, dungeons, and multiplayer systems in Herja.
First Steps
Pick Viking, Mage, Druid, or Shield Maiden. Your class controls your starting combat style, class gear, and personal skill tree.
Walk the world, tap enemies, attack them, collect drops, and use potions when your health gets low.
Enemies, dungeons, Rune Tonics, and rewards give XP. Each level gives 1 skill point for your own class tree.
Gather resources for buildings, add friends, send messages, join clans, and enter dungeons once you meet the level requirement.
Controls
Characters
Melee fighter with axes, swords, rage skills, strong health, and close-range damage.
Archer class using bows, precision shots, arrow volleys, mobility, and ranged survivability.
Nature caster with healing, roots, poison spores, stag magic, and druid spears or staffs.
Ranged spellcaster focused on fireballs, frost, lightning, robes, wands, and fire staffs.
Progression
You earn exactly 1 skill point for every level gained. Open the skill tree with K, choose a skill from your class tree, and unlock it if you meet the level and prerequisite requirements.
Passive skills improve stats permanently while unlocked. Active skills and special moves can be used from the skill tree and have cooldowns.
Inventory
Equipment
Axes, swords, and Viking armor increase melee damage and defense.
Bows, dungeon spears, and archer armor support ranged damage and survival.
Nature staffs, greenwood spears, and druid armor improve magic, healing, and defense.
Wands, fire staffs, and mage robes improve spell damage and magical defense.
Combat
Wild WispEarly magic enemy with basic loot.
Forest ImpDrops herbs, wood, mushrooms, fur, stone, and vials.
Stone BoarTougher low-level enemy with stronger rewards.
Draugr WarriorHigher-level undead fighter.
Rune GolemMagic-heavy enemy with rune materials.
Frost TrollHard enemy for stronger players.Dungeons
Dungeon entrances spawn rarely on the world map and are larger than normal buildings. Walk near one and interact with it. Dungeons start at level 10 and unlock in tiers every 10 levels.
If a dungeon says Level 20 Required, your character must be at least level 20. If you are too low, the game shows the required level message.
Dungeons load a separate smaller map with boundaries, harder enemies, better XP, better gold, better drops, and a boss near the end or center.
Boss loot is individual. Eligible players get their own reward roll, including gold, XP, useful items, and a chance at rare or legendary class-matching weapons.

The social menu includes messaging and notifications so players can coordinate while exploring, building, fighting, and preparing for clan activity.
Notifications
Watch the HUD and social screens for clear messages about invites, clan activity, errors, dungeon requirements, rewards, and battle updates.
Multiplayer Presence
Nearby players can appear in the world. Herja is being expanded toward MMO-style social play with friends, clans, and group rewards.
